Hi, I’m Eliza Rowan—the maker behind CottageCrochet.com
This is where you’ll find downloadable patterns, photo-guided tutorials, and practical small-shop tools that move ideas off the hook and into real finishes (and real income). My aim is simple: help you make with clarity, sell with confidence, and keep the cozy joy of handmade at the center of every day.

About Eliza
I learned to crochet at ten and never set the hook down. Through school, early jobs, and weekend markets, I kept creating—teaching neighbors, gifting throws, and tinkering with designs at the kitchen table. These days I work from a bright little studio, test every pattern with teacher-level precision, and share what works right here.
How CottageCrochet Began
When I “slowed down” a few years back, the quiet didn’t last. My spare room held bins of yarn, scribbled stitch notes, and price tags from craft fairs. Friends kept asking for printable instructions, so my granddaughter nudged me to scan my notes and list a PDF. One basket file became many. Makers started requesting launch checklists, pricing sheets, and caption prompts—so I built those too.
CottageCrochet.com grew from that experiment into a community of crafters turning stitches into keepsakes—and sometimes into side income. If you’ve imagined your design in someone else’s hands (or just want to finish that scarf without a snarl), you’re in the right place.
What fuels my hook
- That first-finish grin — the look when a new maker completes a cozy.
- Thoughtful use of materials — squeezing beauty from leftovers and pricing smartly.
- Shared wins — hearing you paid a bill, funded a weekend away, or donated a blanket.
What you’ll find here
- Step-by-step clarity — plain-English instructions, stitch counts, and quick clips for tricky parts.
- Field-tested tools — everything gets a dry run on my own release calendar before it hits your inbox.
- Community-shaped updates — your feedback steers revisions and new releases.
